Character Development Worksheet
Why use a Character Development Worksheet?
1 - SMOOTHER WORKFLOW - Knowing what a character's strengths and weaknesses are can help organize your plot structure and give greater depth to sub-plots.
2 - INCLUSION - Having a clear view of your "cast of characters" can help you identify imbalances in occurrences of character archetypes (too many fighters? no POC? Any LGBT+ representation? etc...).
3 - SAVES TIME - Knowing what tools you have in your toolbox and how they will perform in the situation at hand is any craftsman's most potent tool. Knowledge baby!
4 - ADDS REALISM - How can you know what you character's will do, if you haven't spent the time to get to know them? The better you know your characters and the more time you spend on them, the more time readers will want to spend with them.
